Escaping into my imagination, Sometimes, during this time of restriction and physical isolation, I lose sight of the abundance around me.  When I do, I have some tricks that seem to help.

Every year that I go to Lake Superior, I stop and buy a special handmade mug to take out on the deck with me.  When I desperately need to escape from it all… from the pandemic, cultural upheaval, loud neighborhood parties, fireworks, politics, violence…I get out this mug and sit in my yard and imagine myself there!

There still is a lot of sadness here in South Minneapolis, the epicenter of discontent!

Escaping into my imagination

To escape this, I was able to go on a socially distanced expedition to the Walker Arts Center to see Jasper Johns prints. It was wonderful, if odd, visit.  A little nerve-wracking after 4+ months of isolation!

But ZOOM!  is a reliable escape.  Friends are a reliable escape!  Facetime Friday dinners with my son in Boston is a reliable escape!  And the studio is an increasingly reliable antidote to the upheaval, again. New work is churning out.

All of these are now up in the artwork section of the website!  Enjoy!
