Getting Close to Delivery
The commission is just about a month to completion!
It’s been an interesting month! I have been repairing and re-repairing the big machine…boo! And develeping work-arounds with the smaller machine. And it is going well! Most of the stitching is completed. All the regular modules are done!
Now I am working on smaller as well as larger modules to focus the eye. I am also doing a few studies for a pop of color! Hence, the tiny pink modules.
I am pinning up modules, grouping them, changing them around, layering them, developing a 12 foot composition!
SO CLOSE! I still have a few metallic modules to stitch and lots of moving all of them around on the pin board to find the best way to move the looking eye through the garden of stitches and the best way to move bodies along it through the hallway. This hallway moves from the public entry back to the private cubicles. The finished piece will be serving 2 different clients: The people who work there as well as their clients. In the end, the artwork needs to be beautiful, elicit both trustworthiness(for the clients) and a sense of peace, softness and a bit of fun for the workers. There is a lot more composing to do! Stay tuned!
