Description

While investigating the different kinds of arches in historic architecture, I began thinking about the periodic efforts of governments to erase the histories of their countries.  Sometimes it is an effort to hide tragedies; sometimes it is an expression of religious oppression; sometimes it is a tool of hegemony.  But, if we remember, the beauty can remain.  These arches are beautiful in and out of churches, mosques, medieval castles.

Sculpture: Fabric, Wood, Fiber on Soft (Yarn, Cotton, Fabric).
