Description

A modest wall sculpture with an exalted attitude! This ruby red piece struck me as regal.  In working with a folding circle, I discover a bishop’s Mitre or ceremonial hat. It made me think about what the ritual luxury might mean about faith, history, doubt, power. How does this fit into the history of the Jesus who served the frailest among us? How does it relate to the socialist Catholic Workers Movement? I have no answers to those questions. But this sumptuous object delights as well as indicts.

It is now in the Collection of the Garrett Museum of Art, Garrett, IN

Wall Art: Textile, Fiber on Soft (Yarn, Cotton, Fabric).
