Future Paths and A Reinvented Past: Keren Kroul and Susan Hensel

Banfill-Locke is pleased to present work by two artists who explore life’s timeline and experience through very different artistic products. Keren’s watercolors investigate line, shape, narrative, and abstraction, through repetition, layering, and juxtaposition of color and imagery. Susan’s A Reinvented Past is a series of drawings, mixed media pieces, and assemblages that together investigate the relationship of memory, nostalgia and story. The exhibition is on view August 29 to September 26, 2015. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10 am to 4 pm. Admission is always free.

There is an opening reception planned for Sunday, August 30 from 2 to 4 pm. This is an open house format where you can enjoy refreshments and see the exhibition. The artists will be in attendance.

msabKeren Kroul is a fiscal year 2015 recipient of an Artist Initiative Grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board. This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.

Keren Kroul’s project was made possible in part with the support of Rimon: The Minnesota Jewish Arts Council, an initiative of the Minneapolis Jewish Federation.
