Bending Toward Beauty online solo show

While we certainly hope that the pandemic is waning…there are some remaining opportunities that developed during the darkest days: online exhibitions!

As you probably remember, I have been dealing with the concept of beauty as an antidote and a call to action in these trying times. The body of work I am exhibiting covers a gamut from sheer visual joy to the more serious considerations of climate change. The politics of the climate change themes are muted in favor of the power of beauty and wonder to change hearts, inviting people to fall in “protective love” with the planet again.

ENVISION ARTS offered me a show for the month of April, 2022. See it here.

And, if that’s not enough good news…

And this piece, Neotectonic Ancient Period 2, is being shown virtually in California until the end of March.

There are some advantages of online exhibitions

  1. They allow you to show unique pieces in multiple locations at the same time.
  2. They avoid customs documentation for international exhibitions.
  3. They saves on shipping…big time!
  4. You do not have to find or build a box.
  5. You can show things that are either too big or too small for most shows.
  6. The fees to enter tend to be lower or, sometimes, non-existent.
  7. They put your work in front of new eyes.
  8. They produce more searchable content for your name.
  9. They increase your brand recognition.

Are there lots of sales? Only a few, so far. But online exhibitions have performed all the above tasks for very little expense and have led to an increase in name recognition and invitations to exhibit worldwide. Seems like a good deal to me.
