Susan Hensel Textile Talks

Susan Hensel Textile Talks. I started doing Textile Talks and more interviews with international pod casters last month, thanks to the  hard work of my marketing team, Faceless Marketing.  Each podcast seems to have a different flavor, a slightly different focus.

It started with Stitchery Stories with Susan Weeks. See my blog post about it here.

Susan Hensel Textile Talks

Susan Hensel Textile Talks. My talk with Dr. Gail Cowley of the School of Stitched Textiles in England was wonderful. The School of Stitched Textiles is the UK’s largest distance learning centre for textiles based courses. Take a look at it!  There are lots of opportunities!  Textile Talk is a new initiative of the school, bringing world leaders in stitching on to talk about what and how  they do what they do.  Listen to my episode at https://player.captivate.fm/episode/c1a7465c-b3c1-4ee2-850e-1208525335d3.  Subscribe and hear all  the interviews.  They are captivating.

Sculptor Isotta Page

Art is…, a podcast by sculptor Isotta Page out of Spain, just posted the first part of our interview.  We battled all sorts of odd technical difficulties…was the Moon blue or the tides high? Not the sort of problems either of us had ever encountered, but we proceeded.  It was so much fun to talk to Isotta.  She had just gotten back from a sculpture park opportunity in Italy…so cool! See her work here.

The Art is… podcast is focused on emerging artists finding their way in the often opaque art world and trying to create a more open and equitable environment for artists.  Listen to the first half of our interview here.  I encourage you to subscribe.  the episodes are great!

Art on the Air, out o Chesterton, Indiana was also a great conversation.  Art on the Air is a feature o Lakeshore Public Radio, Northwest Indiana – WLPR 89.1 FM.  They do, of course, feature a lot of local directed artists, musicians and theater events.  But they also do longform interviews of interesting people who have idea to share with their audience…hence, ME!  Listen here.

And stay tuned!  There is more to come.

I’m talking with Sophia Cosmas, from Australia  this afternoon!  Her podcast is Where Art Meets Grief. Listen to earlier interviews here.  This is part of a year long project she has started.  Read about it here. DO follow along with this thoughtful consideration of grief and recovery. Quite a group!  Every single one of the podcasts was very interesting to do.  In each case, it felt like talking to an old friend!  What a gifted group of interviewers.
