A New Project Begins!

After several months of conversations and planning, I’m thrilled to finally begin work on a custom art installation for a local business’s newly renovated office.

While there isn’t much to show just yet, the creative process is officially underway! The blank wall awaits an explosion of color — but first, I’m starting with ten foundational black modules. There will be greens, blues, tans, and maybe, a pop of interference blue!  The WALL-OF-COLOR awaits my happy fingers!

This piece will eventually include over 100 machine-stitched components in a range of colors and sizes. It’s a large-scale installation made using machine lace, stitched on dissolvable fabric — a technique I’ve used in past projects.  I  thought I would tease you with the threading-the-machine photo…but this time there is no colored background.  Machine lace is just THREAD and a bit of starch!

This one’s going to take most of the summer to stitch, much less assemble! So stay tuned for progress updates as the wall slowly comes to life!
