PAGE TURNER at ODETTA DIGITAL
I continue to work with Ellen Fackl Hagan of ODETTA DIGITAL on Artsy through the Shim Art Network. We are a collective of sorts, nearly 90 artists now, promoting one another. We add artworks quarterly, using thematic ideas, to extend our reach in the great sea of the internet. This quarter’s theme is works on paper: Page Turner, ODETTA Digital, artsy.net/https://www.artsy.net/show/shim-art-network-odetta-digital-spring-2021-exhibition-page-turner;
I am showing never-before-exhibited stitched drawings of shells. They are digital embroideries on Rives BFK printmaking paper. I stitched with rayon thread through the paper and a quilt-batting-sandwich (i.e.controlled stuffing). I then used watercolor and hand-colored the stitch-outs from the back. The rayon thread wicked the color forward, but did not stain the paper. Cool!
