Saying “Yes” When Opportunity Knocks I just sent out a New Year’s Newsletter from Susan Hensel Gallery + Projects. The responses are mostly “Out-of-office” replies that need to be looked at. But there are also sweet, nice emails from friends and clients. The “kudos” that we all enjoy when then arrive. The social network responses about how hard I work. I do work hard, I guess, between an appalling number of appointments and administration tasks. But I also work with great joy. I am always experimenting on multiple fronts at all times, assembling parts and ideas until, seemingly all at once, multiple pieces come together and are completed. Running a growing art studio is running a business…sort-of. So, once again, I am musing about things. My workflow has recently become a bit more than I can sustain. Good things are coming my way a bit more frequently. Even good things take time to accomplish. Fulfilling deadlines and data needs are eating into creative time with materials. Has there been an uptick in income to match this activity? a tiny bit….but mostly the demands on my time have increased. What to do when the GPS does not work.? I am finding my way. Have you ever had your GPS take you to the end of a bridge that does not cross? or to the center of nowhere? My sense of direction, while not precise, is not horrendous either. With the gentle reminder of the iPhone, I can get to most places…even on time. Yet, I do love maps. How Digital Art Is Made For The Winter Exhibition It’s time for a story… I made the decision to join ODETTA Digital art on the SHIM Art Network just as the virus hit. This was around the same time most in-person art viewing was shutting down. I am still grateful and happy in doing so. If you don’t already know, the way I craft my art involves both personal planning and creativity and also computer assisting. I put together the color combinations and style of stitching.
